How can you make a difference?
By developing a cross agency C4D strategy, developing the content of an integrated C4D package and providing supervision to the production of the C4D package.
Specific tasks:
  1. Develop the cross agency / cross sectoral C4D strategy for the JRP
  2. Develop the content of a package of communication material in English (including training material) for the community level service providers
  3. Develop the content of a package of material in English for the care givers and household level audiences
  4. Develop a package of material in English for local government
  5. Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan
  6. Supervise and coordinate the production of the material packages (including supporting the pre-testing of the material) – including the supervision of the translation of the material to relevant local languages in Somalia.
To qualify as a/an [champion or advocate] for every child you will have…
  • A Masters degree in Development Communication, Sociology, Anthrophony or a related field will be an advantage. Related experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience in the field
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  • Proven experience in developing large scale C4D strategies would be required
  • Proven experience developing communication materials for community level initiatives including the development of training material would be required.
  • Proven ability to take a different creative process, yet products are relevant, simple and interesting
  • Previous work experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies/Development Organisations is an added advantage
